On Friday 16th June, Franchise Intelligence’ own Clive Smith, gave an insightful talk on how to franchise a business.
Clive has worked as a Director for a number of different franchisors over the past 20 years, including Dyno-Rod, MyHome and Snack In The Box. He was also responsible for the creation and launch of the Magicman Global franchise concept.
Now, Clive offers his expertise and experience in helping existing businesses enter the franchise arena and existing franchisors to develop and expand their network further.
Clive’s many years of expertise in the field enabled him to sum up exactly what is involved in franchising-a-business in half an hour.
He covered everything from what it means to franchise a business, which gave the audience a full understanding, to how we as a company can help you to achieve this.
Clive also discussed the factors that need to be taken into consideration. He stated the importance of proven success, sustainability over a sufficient period of time, trademarking and profit, which are all necessities in building a successful franchise out of a business.
Clive established the pros of franchising your business such as faster expansion and the cons, like reduced control and emotional strain. His extensive advice left listeners with a lot to think about but nothing was left unanswered. The audience was given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session where Clive was able to answer them tactfully.
